Sony has announced the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact which it calls the “world’s slimmest (6.4mm) and lightest (270g) compact tablet.” It features an 8-inch (1200 x 1920) WUXGA display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, PS4 Remote Play and the highest level of water/dust resistance available (IP65/IP68 certification).
The slim design features stainless steel corners, a slim rounded frame and a tempered glass front. The 8.0-inch display has treated chemical tempered glass and an anti-fingerprint coating. High-res audio support is also included (LPCM, FLAC, ALAC, DSD) along with DSEE HX, which upscales low-res songs to near High-Resolution quality.
The tablet will include a 4500mAh internal battery. Other hardware specs include 3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage, microSD memory card support, an 8.1 MP Exmor RS rear camera and 2.2MP Exmor R front-facing camera. The display has a 283 PPI pixel density and screen-to-tablet ratio of 66.89%.

Weight 270 grams. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will be available in LTE (SGP621, SGP641) and Wi-Fi (SGP611, SGP612) variants. The tablet will launch in black and white colours with Android 4.4.4 KitKat during Q4 2014.
