Sony is set to announce at least two mid-range handsets at the upcoming MWC tradeshow, running the MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 chipset. This includes the Sony G31XX and Sony G32XX, the former handset is what is subject to a new video leak.

The video by YouTube user TechLover HD shows a full tour around the Sony G3121 confirming the use of a USB Type C port. The device looks similar to last year’s Xperia XA series, with thin side bezels but bigger bezels on the top and bottom of the phone. It is the same phone that we saw renders of last December.

It is clear we are looking at a mid-range device here as there is no fingerprint sensor and neither do we see Sony’s triple imaging sensors being used – only a single LED flash sits beside the camera. We previously confirmed that the Sony G31XX will have a 720p display and you can see the use of 2.5d curved glass.

Sony appears to be using a matte plastic for the device, which should keep the fingerprint marks away. The left side of the device has the SIM card and micro SD card slot, while the right side has the volume rocker, Sony’s signature power button and dedicated camera button.

Sony is using the same Xperia UI that we know and love – a minimal and clean skin compared to other manufacturer’s offerings. The phone is running Android 7.0 with firmware build number 40.0.A.0.137.

Other specs aren’t known for this model, but its bigger brother (Sony G32XX) is expected to have 4GB Ram, 64GB internal storage, 23MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera according to a recent benchmark leak. So there is a chance that some of these specs might be shared. The title of the video suggests that the Sony G31XX will also have a 23MP camera, but this is not confirmed through the video.
